Every day, we discard items without a second thought , packaging, containers, leftover materials that seem to have served their purpose. But what if these everyday items still have stories to tell?

Too Good to Toss! invites you to pause, look closer, and rethink what waste really means. With imagination and creativity, ordinary discarded materials can be transformed into something useful, meaningful, or inspiring. A small change in perspective can reveal big possibilities.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The Competition challenges participants to reimagine everyday waste and give it a second life. We are looking for creative, innovative, and/or unique and original recycled pieces from participants with the following requirements:

• Participants are to select an everyday item that is commonly thrown away and redesign it into a new creation below, with an option to creatively incorporate other recycled materials:
  • A useful object; or
  • A unique toy or game; or
  • A tool that encourages, reduces or reuse waste.

• Short explanation write up on the following in not more than 300 words
  • What the original item was before the re-design.
  • What is has been redesigned into and how the new design encourages re-use.
  • (Optional) Include drawings of the re-designed item with clear labelling of each material used.

Sometimes, the most impactful ideas come not from something new but from seeing what we already have in a different way.
