The theme for the primary and secondary competitions are:
- Primary level “Crea8 Waste to Art”
- Secondary level “Youth Eco-Reporter”
The student is required to either make an upcycled item from unwanted waste material or create an art piece from waste material. The upcycled product or art piece must be an original creation by the participant whereby at least 90% of the finished product must be made from waste materials. Participants are not permitted to use in excess of 10% new materials to create art piece and upcycled product. Further details can be found in the competition rules.
Secondary level students with a passion for photography, videography or journalism are encouraged to showcase a sustainability project or an environmental issue through a photo or video.
The submission must be relevant to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Photos submitted for the photojournalism must be less than 10MB in size and in either Jpeg or PDF format. Video submitted for video-journalism shall be between 1 to 3 minutes. Submissions for both photojournalism and video-journalism must be accompanied by a title and 200-word write up.

No, multiple entries per student are not permitted. Each student is only allowed to submit one (1) entry either as an individual or as part of a group submission for the Youth Eco-Reporter Competition
No extensions will be permitted unless decided by the Crea8 Sustainability organising committee. Entries must be submitted via the online submission portal by 11:59pm on the closing date. Special exemptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis after review by the Crea8 Sustainability organising committee.
All entries must be submitted electronically via the online registration portal.
Selected winners of the Competition will be required to submit their original work by 15 June 2020 for display at the awards ceremony. All original work must be sent to:

A panel of judges will comprise of representatives from both PacificLight Power Pte Ltd and its supporting partners. The judges’ decision is final.
Crea8 Waste to Art Competition (Lower and Upper Primary Categories)
1st prize – Trophy and $150 book vouchers
2nd prize – Trophy and $100 book vouchers
3rd prize – Trophy and $75 book vouchers
There will also be $50 book vouchers awarded to 3 merit winners.
Youth Eco-Reporter Competition (Two categories – Lower and Upper Secondary Categories)
1st prize – Trophy and $200 book vouchers
2nd prize – Trophy and $150 book vouchers
3rd prize – Trophy and $100 book vouchers
The prize presentation ceremony will likely be held in Q3 2020. Further details will be provided to the winners at a later date.
By entering the PacificLight 2020 Crea8 Sustainability Competition, you permit us to use and reproduce your submission. Original submissions will be returned by 30 November 2020 where a return address has been provided.
Yes, any primary or secondary student studying in Singapore may participate in the 2020 competition.
The 2020 Crea8 Sustainability Competition is open to all students studying in Singapore including students studying at MOE schools, International Schools and home-schoolers.
