competition rules

  • The PacificLight 2019 Crea8 Sustainability Poster Design Competition (“the Competition”) is open to all primary students from Year 1-6. This includes students attending MOE schools, International Schools or home-schooled within Singapore.
  • Submission of all artwork must be made through the registration link www.crea8sustainability.sg/2019competition/registration, by Friday 12 July 2019.
  • Registration will be completed only once all of the required details have been provided and the poster artwork uploaded.
  • Entries will be categorised by the calendar year of birth in accordance with MOE guidelines.
  • Submission format for artwork
    • Poster artwork must be original. Original artwork means the artwork is created directly and personally by the participant. Copying or imitating another person’s work is not considered an original submission.
    • Poster artwork must be in portrait format
    • Poster must be drawn on standard drawing block, A3 size. Medium of choice for drawing and colouring can consist of coloured pencils, water colours/poster colours, crayons, oil pastels, etc.
  • Poster artwork must be scanned and submitted via the registration portal in the following format
    • File Type: JPEG/JPG
    • File size: not to exceed 5MB
  • If PacificLight has reason to believe that submitted artwork is not original, it may request for satisfactory evidence that the submitted artwork is original.
  • Any submitted artwork that is not original will be rejected or disqualified.
  • By submitting an entry to the Competition, the participant hereby grants PacificLight an unlimited worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, prepare derivative works of any and all submitted works in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world in connection with PacificLight’s purposes including but not limited to its advocacy of sustainable energy use.
  • All of the uses mentioned above will be non-commercial and Participants will be credited for their artwork.
  • The participant retains all copyright in his or her original artwork.
  • By submitting an entry, a participant agrees that PacificLight may use his or her name, age and school for the sole purpose of identifying him or her as the creator of the artwork
  • Any false representation, erroneous information, or violation of these rules and regulations or general objectives of the Competition (such as helping the child develop the artwork for the Competition), will result in immediate disqualification of the participant.
  • Each participant may only submit one entry to the Competition.
  • Any Competition entry found to be a plagiarism of similar images/drawings/pictures completed by another person shall be disqualified.
  • Kindly check that the participant details are entered correctly for the child/ student to be registered in the correct category and under the correct name.
  • Entries will be judged based on the participants’ skill, originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
  • Decisions on the winning artwork for each category will be made by a judging panel comprising of PacificLight staff and third parties that PacificLight might choose to engage.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • The Competition will be divided into 2 categories – Cat A: Primary 1 to 3 (Lower Primary) and Cat B: Primary 4 to 6 (Upper Primary).
  • Prizes are as follows
    • 1st prize   – $150 book voucher + trophy 
    • 2nd prize – $100 book voucher + trophy 
    • 3rd prize  – $75 book voucher + trophy 
    • 6 Merit winners – $50 book voucher + Certificate of Award 
  • At their discretion, the judges will award a Certificate of Special Mention for one outstanding poster design. No prizes will be awarded for the Special Mention Award.
  • Winning entries may be used and re-produced by PacificLight. We will endeavour to return all original art pieces by 1 December 2019.
  • Winners will be notified via email by 1 August 2019. Selected winners will be required to provide a title and brief description of their poster artwork, as well as the original art piece itself by 12 August 2019. Original art pieces are to be submitted to

  • The prize presentation will be held at the 2019 Clean & Green Singapore carnival in November 2019. Further details on the date/time of the award ceremony will be provided to the winners nearer to the date.

  • By submitting an entry to the Competition, participants hereby represent and warrant that the submission does not and shall not infringe any copyright or any other relevant rights of any party or third party
