  • PacificLight 2019 Crea8 Sustainability Animation Video (Secondary) and 2019 Crea8 Sustainability Videography Competition (Tertiary) (“the Competition”) is open to students from
    1. a MOE-registered secondary school
    2. years 7-12 (or equivalent) in any private and/or international educational institution in Singapore
    3. all Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) including Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, ITEs and Universities in Singapore.
  • Participants must be students enrolled in one of the above mentioned institutions at the point of submission of their videos.
  • Registration and video’s YouTube link/password must be submitted through the registration link – by Friday, 28 June 2019 for both the Animation Video Competition (Secondary) and Videography Competition (Tertiary).
  • Registration will be considered as complete when all of the required details have been provided.
  • The video should be between 1.5 minutes to 3 minutes in duration in the form of:
    • an animation video (stopmotion, 3D/2D animation, graphic animation, computer/illustrative animation) for secondary school participants; and
    • documentary, educational or informational style video using videography for IHL participants
  • Participants should upload their video to a YouTube account. The privacy settings of the video should be set to “unlisted” so that it is not available for public viewing. Participants are encouraged to restrict details of the URL to those directly involved in the competition submission process.
  • Participants are to provide the YouTube URL link in the registration form. The video should remain as “unlisted” until the winners have been announced so that only the judging panel is able to access and watch the video. The entry must comply with YouTube’s applicable guidelines.  Entries that are uploaded via YouTube that do not comply with such guidelines will be disqualified.  YouTube is not a sponsor of the Competition, and each participant hereby agrees to release YouTube from any and all liability related to the Competition.
  • Participants can enter individually or form teams of up to three members.
  • Participants must ensure that the video:
    1. does not include content that is inappropriate, misleading, injurious and/or contrary to the public interest of Singapore;
    2. does not include content that is intended to, or may, provoke or incite, hatred or discord;
    3. deliberately misinterpret the theme;
    4. does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights or interest of any third party or may result in any liability.
    • It is the legal responsibility of the participant, not PacificLight, to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements to reproduce the video submitted for this Competition.
    • By submitting an entry, a participant agrees:
      • to give PacificLight an unlimited worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to broadcast, archive, reproduce and screen the video in various media and public platform including, but not limited to website, social media.
      • that PacificLight may the participant’s name, age and school for the sole purpose of identifying the participant as the creator of the video.
    • Any false representation, erroneous information, or violation of these rules and regulations or general objectives of the competition will result in immediate disqualification of the participant(s).
    • Each student/group may submit only one video.
    • Kindly check that the participant(s) details are entered correctly and email(s) provided are valid.
    • Entries will be judged based on the participants’ content, videography, originality, creativity, and relevance.
    • Decisions on the winning videos will be made by a judging panel comprising staff from PacificLight and their supporting partners. The judges’ decisions are final.
    • The Animation Video Competition will be divided into 2 categories – Secondary 1 and 2 (Lower Secondary) and Secondary 4 to 5 (Upper Secondary).
    • Prizes are as follows for Animation Video Competition (Upper and Lower Secondary)
      • 1st prize- $200 book voucher + trophy
      • 2nd prize – $150 book voucher + trophy
      • 3rd prize – $100 book voucher + trophy
    • Prizes are as follows for Videography Competition (Tertiary)
      • 1st prize – $400 vouchers + trophy
      • 2nd prize – $300 vouchers + trophy
      • 3rd prize – $200 vouchers + trophy
  • Winning videos may be used, re-produced and screened for broadcast by PacificLight and/or their supporting partners in a range of media including but not limited to website, microsite and social media accounts i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, in paid media and in conjunction with any activity related to PacificLight that may be organized.
  • Winners will be notified via email by 30 August 2019.
  • The prize presentation will be held at the Clean & Green Singapore 2019 in November 2019. Further details on the date/time of the award ceremony will be provided to the winners nearer to the date.
  • Any competition entry found to be a plagiarism of similar broadcast work by another person shall be disqualified.
